As a Test Automation Engineer, you will work within the software department in a multidisciplinary Scrum team on advanced robotics and software solutions in a highly data-driven environment. The systems you contribute to are responsible for the control, monitoring, and intelligent operation of autonomous machines and their associated software applications in real-world use. The team consists of software developers, test specialists, data analysts, and other technical disciplines. Your role focuses on safeguarding software quality, setting up and executing automated tests, and strengthening test processes within the team.

As a Test Automation Engineer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test automation within a complex and innovative technical environment. You play an important role in validating software and robotic functionalities, improving the test infrastructure, and supporting a stable and efficient CI/CD pipeline, enabling the team to deliver new features with confidence.
 

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for robotic and software functionalities, ranging from detailed-level tests to integration and end-to-end validation;
• Set up and improve test scenarios using behavior-driven testing (e.g., Gherkin/Cucumber) and translate them into stable, reusable test automation;
• Maintain and optimize the test infrastructure and contribute to a reliable and efficient CI/CD pipeline;
•  Analyze test results and system behavior, and translate findings into concrete improvement actions for development teams;
•  Actively contribute to test strategy, test coverage, and quality approaches for new functionalities within complex, integrated systems.

Your profile

•  A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent working and thinking level;
•  At least 2 years of experience in software testing and test automation, preferably within an embedded environment;
•  Experience with behavior-driven testing and working with test automation tools such as Cucumber, Behave, or Gherkin;
•  Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python and preferably also C++ in a testing or development context;
•  Familiar with Linux, Git, Bash, and working with CI/CD pipelines within Agile/Scrum teams;
•  Good command of the English language is required; Dutch is a plus, but not mandatory.
 

What we offer 

•  Salary: €4,800 to €6,800 gross per month;
•  Option to work 32, 36, or 40 hours per week;
